Haumia-tiketike
Haumia/Hamimie-tiketike is the atua of uncultivated and naturally growing food sources. Legend says that Haumia-tiketike, while hiding from his brother Tūmātauenga, covered himself in soil but overlooked his hair, which grew above ground.
This hair is believed to be the rarauwhe, or fronds, of the bracken fern, which the Māori dug up to reveal the edible rhizomes.
Haumia-tiketike is recognised for his peaceful nature and association with cultivating goodwill and harmony. This collection reflects those characteristics by using soft mid-tone hues for all aspects of the taonga.

At Tekotiri, each taonga carries its own mauri, reminding us that every journey is unique. More than rākau, they are pathways of connection, guiding whānau back to their whakapapa and forward into their own journey.
